The Story Goes On
Over the past decade, Emma has released a diverse body of work across albums, EPs and collaborative projects, moving fluidly between alt-pop, stripped-back songwriting and more experimental vocal-led work. Formerly releasing music under the name Emma’s Imagination, Gillespie now performs under her own name, bringing a deeper emotional range, confidence and clarity to her writing and performances.
Her career has included two UK Top 10 singles and a Top 20 album following a breakthrough performance at Wembley Arena in 2010, alongside subsequent releases that pushed her sound into darker, more textural territory. Her second album, Pier Siamese, produced by Grammy award-winning Chris Kasych, marked a shift away from traditional instrumentation, reflecting an artist increasingly led by instinct, atmosphere and emotional truth.
In 2025, she returned decisively to the live stage, supporting Babyshambles at Glasgow’s O2 Academy, two shows that signalled both a homecoming and a reset.
She is currently refining new material for live performance and release, and is actively seeking touring and support opportunities across the UK and Ireland.
Emma Gillespie’s live performances prioritise presence, emotional honesty and connection, favouring intimacy over spectacle and truth over polish. This is an artist grounded in experience, stepping forward with intention, authority and her own voice.
